On March 20th, PNY unveiled an XR development kit based on NVIDIA's IGX Orin platform, NVIDIA's Holoscan platform, and Magic Leap 2 glasses at NVIDIA GTC 2024.
The NVIDIA IGX + Magic Leap 2 kit
PNY official states that the kit has the following core features:
-
Ensuring zero physical world latency for critical task applications, providing high-precision real-time data processing.
-
Using NVIDIA IGX Orin for local computation of AI inference and complex models, NVIDIA Holoscan serves as a real-time multimodal AI sensor processing platform, and leveraging NVIDIA Metropolis software to provide XR use cases.
-
The Magic Leap 2 glasses provide precise AR (Augmented Reality) interfaces.
The NVIDIA IGX Orin is an edge AI platform.
The NVIDIA IGX Orin edge AI platform is specifically designed for industrial and medical environments, enabling organizations to deploy AI technology in a safe and reliable manner. In addition to the Orin processor with 248 TOPS computing power, the platform is equipped with a customized RTX A6000 graphics card. Its 48GB GDDR6 ECC memory can handle models with more parameters, and the customized VBIOS seamlessly integrates this graphics card into all other IGX hardware features and functionalities.
