Sony and Siemens will launch virtual reality headset for the latter’s industrial metaverse focus by December 2024. The product is currently integrated with Siemens’ engineering design platform NX, and will be expanded to other its products, according to senior Siemens’ executive.
Unlike products currently on the market, such as the Apple Vision Pro or Meta's Quest Pro, the head-mounted display developed by Sony and Siemens will focus on industry product engineering and design.

We’ve been seeing it on the screen for years. But on the screen and in reality It’s a different experience to see it,” he said.
He further explained that there have been some breakthroughs in resolution, the ability to easily switch between the real and virtual worlds, and Sony's input model to make it easier to change designs in real time. Boman believes these things will have an impact.
