Company Description
ZEONEX® Cyclo Olefin Polymer (COP) is an engineered optical resin that provides excellent optical properties including high transparency, low birefringence, low water absorption, and good heat resistance. ZEONEX® is ideally suited for optical components including F(theta) lenses, digital & cell phone camera lenses/prisms, AR/VR lenses, military and diagnostic imaging optics.
Ultra-Low Moisture Absorption: ZEONEX has <0.01% water absorption – much less than PC and PMMA. ZEONEX parts are dimensionally stable and show minimal spherical and coma aberration of lenses after exposure to humid environments.
"Glass-Like" Transparency: The 92% high transparency is comparable to glass. ZEONEX has a higher transparency than PC and PMMA over a broader range of wavelengths.
Low Birefringence: ZEONEX COP exhibits very low birefringence.
Heat resistance: Higher Tg allows COP for better dimensional and optical stability. ZEONEX® T62R further improves the heat resistance to provide optical glass like clarity without yellowing discoloration or thermal deformation.
Processability and Transcription: ZEONEX exhibits excellent moldability allowing for intricately designed devices and precise micro-lens arrays while maintaining exceptional flatness. ZEONEX can withstand a more robust process compared to competitive, brittle cyclo-olefin copolymers and PS.
