On March 4th, at the 2023 WWDC conference, Apple unveiled its first mixed reality headset, the Vision Pro. One of the scenarios showcased involved using a virtual keyboard. This keyboard, suspended in mid-air, enables users to input text directly in the spatial computing environment while wearing the device.
However, many users are not satisfied with the virtual keyboard on the Vision Pro headset, finding that it significantly reduces speed and efficiency. Users have to tap on the keyboard one finger at a time to input text.
Currently, a third-party developer, Mathijs Kadijk, has released a free app called 'Typos' for the Vision Pro headset. This app allows users to input text on the iPhone (including Chinese), and then sync the text to the Vision Pro headset. The entered text can be copied to the clipboard and pasted elsewhere.
The app essentially represents a segmented version of the 'relay' functionality, but in a more intuitive form. Apple had previously offered a similar 'Input on iPhone' feature on the Apple Watch.
