On March 10th, according to South Korean media Thelec, industry insiders revealed that Samsung Electronics plans to produce 400,000 units of the first-generation Galaxy Ring.
Reports suggest that the Galaxy Ring is a new product line set to launch this year, and Samsung Electronics anticipates adjusting the production of the Galaxy Ring based on market feedback. Due to its small size and the availability of special components, even if the demand exceeds expectations, production interruptions are not expected. The production of Galaxy Ring components is set to commence in May, and the new product is expected to debut alongside Samsung's new sixth-generation foldable phone in July, with the earliest market release anticipated in August.
It is reported that Lu Taiwen, the head of Samsung's Mobile eXperience (MX), had previously disclosed some information about their first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 exhibition.
Lu Taiwen revealed that the Galaxy Ring can be used for 5-9 days on a single charge and can be charged using a pogo pin connector and a dedicated adapter. In terms of functionality, this ring is equipped with various sensors that can track the user's blood oxygen saturation and sleep patterns. It is reported that the Galaxy Ring can also track heart rate, steps, and exercise conditions.
