DPVR, a Chinese VR hardware and software education solution provider, is entering a strategic partnership with ASI Corporation to expand its global market reach to the United States and Canadian regions. 

DPVR looks to expand its headset portfolio into the western amusements, enterprise, education, and consumer sectors. The firm is already present in these Western markets; however, the ASI partnership will help boost this goal. 

Derek Liu, VP of DPVR,added: 

Teaming up with ASI Corp. dramatically extends our reach, ensuring that our comprehensive VR solutions are accessible to a wider audience. After a thorough evaluation of potential partners, we are confident that ASI’s vast experience and robust network will be instrumental in supporting local VR content solution providers, FEC owners and enhancing consumer satisfaction.

Interestingly, the move came a few years after Chinese XR firm Xreal entered the Western market. For Xreal, a Western expansion proved valuable to its smart glasses adoption rate, allowing the firm to position itself perfectly ahead of the Vision Pro boom. Will DPVR’s move hold the same success? If the trends are correct, DPVR could join the Western XR revolution.

Expanding to Western Markets 

According to DPVR, the firm’s solution portfolio covers a variety of use cases from enterprise, arcade, and consumer, and the portfolio is already present in DPVR’s targeted Western markets. 

Kent Tibbils, VP of Marketing at ASI,added: 

We’re very excited to add DPVR to our product line up. This strategic partnership and advanced technology will create growth opportunities for our customer base, particularly those that are gaming, healthcare, and education-centric. 

DPVR states how the western market expansion will assist the firm in continuing its US regional success and mirror its eastern success in schools where the firm’s P1 VR headset is leveraged. The firm notes that the P1 is already widely integrated in US schools.Firms such as Levenono Education and Umety partner with DPVR for their education focus, showing how the firm supports some leading worldwide companies. 

Moreover, DPVR states that its new P2 headset holds increased value for enterprise and education clients thanks to the newer device’s content security features, longer battery life, and ergonomic, comfortable design. 

On the gaming and consumer side, DPVR offers an E3C headset for in-person simulation attractions. On the other hand, DPVR’s E4 headset is a PCVR device offering a massily competitive 4K 120Hz display experience.The Chinese firm states it is experiencing an “increasing volume of shipments” for its VR headset in Western regions.  

DPVR is now reacting to Western demand by creating the correct partnership and increasing its presence at Western emerging technology shows like CES to showcase its commitment to North America while strengthening bonds with the region’s customer base.
