Established in October 2021, Nuo Shi Technology focuses on the research, development, production, and sales of Micro-LED chips, primarily applied in fields such as AR/VR/MR head-mounted displays (HMD), automotive heads-up displays (HUD), micro-projection, and medium-to-large screen displays. The Nuo Shi team is one of the earliest groups in China engaged in the research and small-scale production of Micro-LED micro-display chips and is the first team in China to deeply integrate integrated circuit manufacturing processes with Micro-LED chip manufacturing. This recent funding round marks Nuo Shi Technology's third round of financing completed within two years, following a series of Pre-A round financing completed in 2022, amounting to tens of millions of yuan.
Nuo Shi's unique VSP technology combines an 8-inch integrated circuit production line, which transforms epitaxial wafers from CMOS driver wafers into Micro-LED arrays using integrated circuit processes. This technological approach results in smaller pixel sizes, making it more suitable for achieving high resolution and pixel density in Micro-LED microdisplays. It represents the optimal solution for rapidly commercializing Micro-LED technology. Within the same technological framework, it is capable of producing both Micro-LED chips and microdisplays simultaneously.
In April 2023, Nuo Shi Technology announced the successful illumination of a 0.12-inch Micro-LED microdisplay, boasting a brightness of several million nits and pixel size of 3.75 micrometers. This microdisplay represents the smallest known VGA resolution microdisplay device globally, marking a significant breakthrough for Nuo Shi Technology in the field of microdisplay chips.
In September 2023, Nuo Shi Technology successfully established the VSP process flow, achieving wafer-level integration of AlGaInP and GaN material systems, and completing the illumination of tri-color stacked engineering dies.
In February 2024, Nuo Shi Technology initiated the construction of its first Micro-LED micro-display chip production line, which, upon completion, will play a significant role in the commercialization of Micro-LED micro-displays worldwide.
