On May 4th, according to reports from The Wall Street Journal, it was revealed that the standard version of the Apple Vision (the consumer version of Vision Pro) will be finalized in October this year.
The report states that the weight of the new product will be around 400 grams, which is approximately 2/3 of the weight of the Vision Pro. The supply chain is gearing up to prepare for millions of units. The standard version of the Vision was originally scheduled to be released in the fall of 2025, around September.It's possible that Apple may advance the release to June 2025.
The Vision Pro was unveiled at Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in June last year, with a starting price of $3499 USD (approximately ¥25263 RMB). It officially went on sale in the United States on February 2nd, but has not yet been introduced to other markets.
This headset is equipped with an 8-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and a new R1 chip, with a unified memory of 16GB. The Vision Pro can handle inputs from 12 cameras, 5 sensors, and 6 microphones, with a memory bandwidth of 256GB/s.The Apple Vision Pro utilizes micro-OLED technology to place 23 million pixels on two postage stamp-sized displays, supporting a wide color gamut and HDR (High Dynamic Range).
To enable users to interact with digital content, Apple Vision Pro introduces a completely new input system. Users control it through their eyes, hands, and voice. When browsing apps, users can simply gaze at them effortlessly, pinch their fingers to select, lightly swipe their wrists to scroll, or use voice dictation input.
Currently, there is no information available regarding the configuration of the standard version of the Apple Vision headset. However, it is anticipated that there may be a reduction in hardware specifications compared to the Pro version in order to lower the selling price, possibly reflected in the weight as well.
