这家企业宣布成功研发出1.5μm以下的Micro LED：EQE超过32%

Recently, French company Aledia announced the successful development of Micro LED technology with a size below 1.5μm, achieving an external quantum efficiency (EQE) exceeding 32%. This achievement enables a luminous power output of 320 milliwatts per watt (WPE), setting a new world record for energy efficiency.

Aledia stated that a high EQE means more electrical power is converted into visible light, thus reducing energy consumption and extending the battery life of devices. Similarly, a high WPE indicates that Aledia's Micro LED can provide bright, vivid displays while consuming less electricity, setting a new standard for establishing high-performance, environmentally friendly display technology.

Aledia also stated that through advanced technological methods, the newly developed Micro LED has made significant breakthroughs in the directionality and pixel size reduction of native red, green, and blue (RGB) colors. This advancement allows for clearer AR display effects and more vibrant images.

Furthermore, Aledia revealed that its Micro LED products have reached the 99% DCI-P3 color gamut standard, enabling a broader range of colors. The fidelity of colors in Aledia's Micro LED technology has been further enhanced, ensuring the display quality of terminal applications.

According to the information available, Aledia was spun off from the leading French research institute in micro and nanotechnology, CEA-Leti laboratory, in 2012. Since then, the company has been dedicated to the development of 3D structured GaN Micro LED technology, also known as nanowire technology.

Nanowire technology creates LEDs through nano-level cylindrical three-dimensional processing on wafers. These LEDs have higher luminosity and can achieve full-color displays by adjusting the nanowire structure. Aledia's Micro LED products can be used in various display applications.

Last October, Aledia completed its latest round of financing, raising €120 million (approximately RMB 924 million). The funding will be used for the mass production of Micro LED products.
