It was reported yesterday that Qualcomm is providing test samples of Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 3 (SXR2330) and XR2+ Gen 3 chips (SXR2350) to VR headset manufacturers. The relevant chips are code-named "Project Matrix" and support 16GB RAM, UFS 4.0 and single-lens 4K panel.
Meta Quest 3 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chip, and the XR2 Gen 3 (SXR2330) exposed this time is the successor chip. Another interesting thing is that Qualcomm has not launched the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chip at present, nor has it before.
